The project PROSVASI - CREATION OF AN ACCESSIBILITY NETWORK IN TOURIST AREAS IN THE FRAMEWORK OF SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY - is implemented by the CYPRUS PARAPLEGICS ASSOCIATION funding from Interreg VA Greece Cyprus 2014 - 2020.
Prosvasi is an effort to strengthen the reduction of accessibility difficulties for people with mobility and vision problems in areas of natural and cultural interest. This effort combines the knowledge of the problems of the disabled (CYPRUS PARAPLEGICS ASSOCIATION - OPAK) with the knowledge of the problems of the local communities, in the light of the Local Government (Municipality of Syros - Ermoupolis, Development Agency of Limassol ).
The Program aims at:
Cyprus Paraplegics Association → construction of infrastructures of autonomous access mechanisms to the sea in the area of Geroskipou and the Community of Neo Chorio as well as small interventions/corrections in the accessibility infrastructure at the place where the respective mechanism will be installed through the placement of access corridors.
Development Agency of Limassol → widening of the existing nature path which has been constructed by the Department of Forests within the Limassol National Forest Park
Municipality of Syros - Ermoupolis → construction of infrastructure mechanisms of autonomous access to the sea, minor interventions/corrections in the accessibility infrastructure at the point where the respective mechanism will be installed through the placement of access corridors as well as equipment in areas of tourist interest.
The total budget of the project PROSVASI amounts to 636,080.25 thousand euros, of which 540,668.21 thousand euros come from the EU budget. The project started in June 2021 and will be completed in May 2023.
